"Klangkapsel / Sound Capsule 037 contains the song Tropfen schöner Zeit (Drops of Beautiful Time). It is the soundtrack for a travel into the heroic world of the Japanese author Yukio Mishima. The lyrics of this song are taken from his novel The Decay of The Angel. This was the fourth part in his tetralogy Sea of Fertility. It was also his last book - he finished it on 25.11.1970. And the same day he also finished his life. These words are about time, about life and death. Comparing drops of time to drops of wine and to drops of blood, he writes about the decision to stop time in a perfect moment by putting deliberately an end to one´s life. The book was published after his death - Yukio Mishima did not only write about these drops of beautiful time but also died in an act of seppuku on 25.11.1970. The first version of this song appeared in 2006 on the sold out Allerseelen / Changes CD Men among the Ruins by Ewers Tonkunst. This sound capsule contains a new version with bass by Marcel P. It was recorded in 2019 at Haus zur letzten Latern and Dungeon Studio (Rhenania)." (Gerhard Hallstatt 08.02.2024)

"Zeit. Unwiederbringlich.
reiche Trunkenheit birgt." (Yukio Mishima, Todesmale des Engels)

"Drops of beautiful time, like drops of a rich, rare wine. And time dripped away like blood. Old men dried up and died. In payment for having neglected to stop time at the glorious moment when the rich blood was bringing rich drunkenness." (Yukio Mishima, The Decay of the Angel)

"Yukio Mishima schrieb vom Kairos, vom goldenen Augenblick, vom Ent-Schluß zum Schluß. Ist er ausgestiegen aus dem Stundenglas? Das geschah am 25. November 1970. 26.01.2006) (Teil)

"Yukio Mishima wrote about kairos, about the golden moment, about the decision to end his life. Did he get out of the hourglass? That happened on November 25, 1970. He smashed the hourglass, it broke, shattered. Blood, shards of glass - I am thinking of the dead deer in the snow that I found a couple of days ago, vermillion drops of blood in its honey-colored fur, some crystals of snow. But probably it was a hunter who took this trophy home. I am thinking of the head of the dead Yukio Mishima when, after seppuku, his companion Hiroyasu Koga beheaded him with a single stroke of the sword. The comrades of the Shield Society Tatenokai placed the heads of the two warriors Yukio Mishima and Masakatsu Morita on the bloody carpet. Both heads still wore the headband. Drops of beautiful time. (...) I dedicate these lines to Kairos, the favourable moment that fatefully meets man - man should take care and control of it. Like a samurai that is said to be invulnerable when he decides to make the right movement at the right time in the right place." (Gerhard Hallstatt: Drops of Beautiful Time. 26.01.2006) (excerpt)
